User-friendly traffic light system
The dashboard is a monitoring tool within the ACS to keep the user aware of possible issues with their estate of devices. The ACS dashboard uses a simple traffic light system, subsequently making the information within the auto configuration server more accessible for non-technical users. The system gives you a snapshot of your estate and can help you to identify any issues before your customers.
Device flags
The data for the ACS dashboard is gathered from device flags. Flags are combinations of names and values tied to a device record and can be populated with information from the device, another database or added by a user via a script or manual entry.
Setting thresholds
The boundaries of what will create a green dashboard light or a red one are very easy to configure combining the use of flags on device records with a user-friendly interface where changes to thresholds can be made.
Resolving problems quickly and easily
The traffic light system makes the identification of problem devices and the route to them being remedied very simple. With the level of user control this means the dashboard can be used for all sorts of applications, be it monitoring failures of a firmware roll out, ensuring QoS levels are correct for VoIP/IPTV and checking if value adding services have been correctly applied.
